Breads:

Austria and Hungary, like the southern parts of Europe, including France and Italy, are wheat-eating countries and breads and rolls are baked from white wheat flour, just as in America.

Sandwiches:

Times at which Sandwiches are served in Austria vary considerably, they can appear at "tea-time", or as a simple cold supper with a glass of wine, or even if you are invited after the evening meal. In a more sophisticated home, one will find the more unusual type of sandwich combinations.

Filled Sandwich Loaves:

Filled loaves which then are cut into sandwiches are also a specialty of the Austrian cuisine.
